There was an interesting news blurb this week that may have turned out to be a spoiler for season 7 of The Walking Dead.
After some filming, Norman Reedus and Steven Yeun helped out at the scene of a car crash they came upon while riding their motorcycles.
You can Google the story or check out the Daily Mail’s coverage for an article that came to the same conclusion I did, that Glenn is alive in season seven and it was someone else that got offed by Negan.
This has been pretty hotly debated by TWD fans since the season 6 finale left a lot of people up in the air over who Negan offed after showing the infamous scene from the victim’s point of view. We all know by now that in the comics it was Glenn who got killed calling out for Maggie in a scene I still find really disturbing.
So who DID Negan kill on the show?
My money is on Eugene.
Eugene’s story is pretty much done, he has manned up and become a real survivor so his heroic story arc has reached its peak. He’s passed on the information about making bullets to the others in the group so there’s a plausible excuse to have him out but his talents carrying on, plus in the season finale there was a lot of time dedicated to him with swelling music and emotive scenes that typically accompany a character on his or her way out.
Other possibilities are of course possible. It’s unlikely to be Rick or Carl just based on how the story in the books plays out. It’s not likely to be Michonne either as she’s still developing nicely as a character. I previously predicted it could be Maggie since she’s already in a bad way and that would be an interesting turn around with Glenn still calling out the infamous “Maggie” line but with a much different meaning. It could take his character in very different directions as well.
That of course was based on a prediction for the end of season 5 when I erroneously thought the story was moving along much faster than it really was. It took us a whole other season to get to the point I thought was coming at the end of Season 5.
Well whoever it is, I’m sure there’s going to be plenty of tears over it.
Let’s wait and see.
