Rejected Zombie Art

As I was putting my zombie kids book together I went through a number of revisions. One thing I had initially done in laying it out was to drop in some preexisting zombies as placeholders in order to lay out the story and figure out what I wanted on each page as it got fleshed out. One major change I knew I wanted was to be sure and tone down the blood and guts of the placeholder images as I drew new zombies to take their places. One of those zombies never made it into the book but since I have the artwork sitting about I thought I might as well share it here. I’ve actually gone back and made it bloody again. So what you see here are the final version with blood all over it. This was never intended to be in the book with that on it and I added the blood just for this post. The second image is the one I made with the idea of putting in the book but as I said for whatever reason I ended up leaving it out.
