Zombie transformation: Stage 2: Why me?

why me
Most of us have had a why me sort of day but not like this. In this stage the reality of injury and infection starts to set in. This stage might also be experienced by the uninfected who simply think their number is up so it’s important to confirm that they truly are becoming a zombie and not simply in need of medical attention. At all times, keep the potentially infected as calm as possible and isolated.

The panic reaction may ramp up here manifesting in suicidal or overly defensive behavior. This person may become belligerent towards offerings of help for fear of being killed or turned over to some sort of authority, even of being turned out of a group.

Physically this person is starting to show signs of turning. Signs may vary based on the reason for the person turning. It’s likely they would show signs of fever if they are infected, a loss of clear vision and dexterity, confusion, loss of strength and energy. They are still your friend but this may be the last time you recognize them as such.
