Brutes are a hell of a thing to deal with.
Walk down the street and you are going to see some BIG people. And I don’t just mean fat people, I mean great big tall huge people with muscles. Now if one of those guys decided to drop a fist on your face you’d drop in a second. Now consider if that giant guy then proceeded to eat your face! It’s hard enough to hold off an attacker in regular life, but an undead monster attacker who wants to devour you? You’re in big trouble there. Want to be able to get away, defend yourself or your friends? Time to get into the gym, practice that cardio and watch your caloric intake!
Not sure how to get in shape?
Try three of my favorites:
P90X: The brilliant exercise program from Beachbody, hosted by Tony Horton.
This is how I got started exercising and went from zero to hero in 90 days. Without knowing what to do or how to work out Tony taught it all and it wasn’t as confusing as I thought it would be. And not as expensive either. Buy a couple of adjustable dumbbells and you’re pretty much ready to start. Add in a few of the extras like a pull up bar ($20) and over time you’ve got yourself a home gym.
Crossfit: Hard, fast, simple, fun!
People who do crossfit are in amazing shape. Unfortunately it means going to a gym or a bigger investment in equipment in order to do it as you’ll need large amounts of space that might not be available to all of us city dwellers. When crossfit is done right it puts you at the top of your game with great cardio and muscle building. When it’s done poorly, even a little, it risks injury and long term health issues like worn out joints. Form is everything and it’s not always taken care of in this system.
Zombies! Run: Like running? Hate zombies? This might be the app for you.
I have to admit to buying this app and then not using it. Mostly because the cold weather plays hell with my knees and I just haven’t been running.
However, this app tracks your runs and puts them in the context of a story. Zombies are chasing you and you have to get away. With little reminders from the app about how far behind you the zombies are, this is a great way to get some simulated zombie training in. Hmmm. I think it’s time I go for a run and write a whole post about this app!
